Ahead of the NBA playoffs, the Phoenix Suns are looking to extend their contract with veteran guard Isaiah Thomas. Earlier this season Thomas had signed two 10-day contracts with the Suns of which one expired on Monday.

Considering his performances in locker room and practice sessions Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel is reportedly impressed with the 35-year-old veteran. He is intended to play him in the upcoming playoffs for which team will extend or implement his second contract.

Notably, this season Thomas has made it to the court four times just to play 14 minutes of garbage time. However, his performance in practice sessions has impressed team management who are looking to use him as a crucial point guard in upcoming do-or-die games.

Why did Isaiah Thomas demand an apology from Jordan?

Isaiah Thomas has been one of the most celebrated point guards in the NBA in recent times. He has represented around ten teams in his 12-year-long career. However, the two-time All-Star had been out of action for a couple of years before getting a contract from the Phoenix Suns for the 2023/24 season.

Thomas has played 554 matches in NBA where he has scored 17.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. It’s worth noting that Thomas also has been indulged in various controversies including one with NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

Last month while speaking to a podcast Thomas spoke about the ‘Last Dance’ controversy. He also spoke about his relationship with Jordan as he demanded a public apology. He had said, "No, not salvageable. This dude got on national television, and international television and called me an a*shole.

"Somebody good to him. And then he apologizes, on international television we have no conversation. You can't you can't apologize and have a private dinner. "When you didn't embarrass me publicly if you didn't mean it. Say it publicly. Now, if you meant it, let it stand. I'm good with that"
