Dallas Mavericks eager to sign Klay Thompson with unique offers

Dallas Mavericks seems to be interested in purchasing Klay Thompson. The latest report has suggested that different kinds of offers can be made to the latest free agent. Thompson is unlikely to re-sign the contract with Golden State Warriors, given his demands. But Dallas seems to be doing everything it might to get a good third scorer as a backup to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. 

The source has claimed that Dallas is ready to talk about the financial flexibility with Klay. It also claimed that the 34-year-old could get a longer contract with the Mavericks, which might not be a possibility with the Warriors. If Stephen Curry could return to his best form, there might not be a reason for the Warriors to try harder for someone who is turning older and is not at his best anymore.

"League sources tell The Stein Line that the Dallas Mavericks, with some newfound financial flexibility after securing the Tim Hardaway Jr-to-Detroit trade that I wrote about Tuesday, are another team intent on exploring the feasibility of signing Thompson once he makes it to free agency," claimed the recent report. It seems like Klay turning free agent is the only delaying point.

Will Dallas Mavericks and Warriors sign and trade?

In the NBA 2023/24 season, Thompson was not that great. However, he still averaged 17.9 PPG while shooting 38.7% from 3. While Mavericks has some good options, Klay might be a good third-scoring option. If what reports claim are to be believed, Dallas seems to be up for it. There can also be a sign-and-trade between Dallas and Warriors as per some popular reports.

Earlier this month, Klay took the social media on storm after unfollowing Warriors on social media. The move came following his contract with GSW ended. Many are anticipating him to make a move from the club after his long association. Some of the teams are seemingly interested in the star player. Klay might well find a new home where a second peak is what the fans are awaiting.
