A recent report claimed a massive move from the Golden State Warriors. It has claimed that the club has offered a 2-year contract to their star player Klay Thompson. A few days ago, it was found out that Klay had unfollowed the club on Instagram. Thereby, he became a free agent in the sport, but it seems like the Warriors are in no hurry to get rid of their player.

According to the new league rule, the Warriors have come up with a trade offer. With that, a team can extend the contract with the free agents of their own team. Thompson is yet to reply to the offer of Warriors. The report claimed that the question is not about the dollars, but the number of years. It seems like Thompson wishes to have a longer contract. But a contract of two years might be a bit short.

"We've heard it's a two-year offer. It's as much about years as dollars in some of these cases," claimed the report. There are likely to be some hurdles that could hamper negotiations between the two sides. About three weeks back, it seemed like there was no move from either towards a contract. Klay Thompson did not have a great season as a player in NBA 2023-24.

Will Orlando Magic be a new home for Klay Thompson?

For the first time since the 2012-13 season, he averaged under 18 points per game (17.9). Additionally, the star player claimed only 2.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds. He had a shooting percentage of 38.7 from behind the arc and 43.2 from the field. It did not help the Warriors in their campaign which was like a roller coaster of a journey.

For the first time since 2021, the Warriors failed to qualify for the playoffs despite having an overall record of 46-36. The contract with Warriors might not seem to be a possibility at this point, as the opposing parties have a better offer. Orlando Magic seems to be up with a great monetary deal and a contract which is likely to last for three years.
