On Monday night Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Orlando Magic by 96-86 as Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points and Jarrett Allen scored 16 points and 20 rebounds. Cleveland Cavaliers is now leading by 2-0 in the first round of the Eastern Conference series.

Mitchell set the tone, and Cleveland Cavaliers led from start to finish, much as in Game 1. Cleveland has had an amazing start to the playoffs, having spent the whole season hoping to redeem itself after losing in the first round to the New York Knicks in five games last year. Cleveland has been considerably difficult this time. The Cavs' Evan Mobley contributed 17 points, while Allen had 16 points and nine offensive rebounds.

Paolo Banchero scored 21 points and Franz Wagner added 18 for Orlando Magic, who have only won one postseason series in 13 attempts after dropping the series opener. They are now in an even deeper hole.

Jalen Suggs, a Magic guard, had a sprained left knee during the first quarter. He fell to the floor after making contact with Mitchell, clutching his leg in anguish. After being hoisted up, an emotional Suggs couldn't bear any weight on his leg as he was brought to the locker room.

Orlando Magic struggled to find their shooting

Jalen Suggs returned at halftime, wearing a sleeve on his leg. He ended with nine points and spurred the Magic's fourth-quarter revival, which saw them score 13 straight points to get within 87-78. Suggs' injury appeared to rattle his teammates. Orlando Magic were just 14-13 when he left, but the Cavs finished the first quarter with a 19-5 run to take a 12-point advantage.

Garland's basket with 9:09 remaining gave the Cavs a 22-point advantage, allowing their towel-waving supporters to let off steam and celebrate Cleveland's second postseason win since 2018. The Magic, as they had in Game 1, struggled to find their shooting touch. They shot 36% from the floor, including 9 of 35 3-pointers.

The best-of-seven series continues with Game 3 on Thursday in Orlando.
