Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever rematch was a highly anticipated game on Sunday afternoon, with Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese facing off in another chapter of their WNBA careers. Things grew heated when Reese smacked Clark in the head on a block attempt in the third quarter of the Fever's 91-83 win, resulting in a flagrant foul. A reporter approached Reese about the flagrant penalty after the game, and she promptly cut him off.

According to Fox News, "A basketball play. It was a basketball play," Reese said. "I can't control the refs. They affected the game obviously a lot tonight."

Angel Reese was convinced that referees were not calling the same game from both ends of the floor. The Sky were penalised for 21 personal fouls as a group, while the Fever were warned for 17. Reese and fellow rookie Kamilla Cardoso each committed five fouls.

"I think we went up really strong a lot of times, and we didn’t get a lot of calls," Reese explained when asked about her and Cardoso's performances. "Going back and looking at the film, I’ve seen a lot of calls that weren’t made. I guess some people got a special whistle. But just being able to play hard as best as we can."

Indiana Fever's head coach also agreed officials made the right call

It's unclear who Reese referred to mentioning the "special whistle." Clark had nothing nasty to say about Reese after the egregious foul. She agreed that the physicality was not malevolent. Caitlin Clark went on to praise Reese's competitive attitude and mention how she used her position to promote the game.

Christie Sides, Indiana Fever's head coach, also agreed officials made the "right call" on the Reese flagrant. She also mentioned flagrant fouls not being called, as we saw lately with Chennedy Carter's shove on Clark. It was then elevated to a flagrant foul. However, in their prior encounter, it was a frequent foul.
