'Welcome to Grove' - Alex Albon shares his thoughts on Carlos Sainz first day at Williams

Carlos Sainz, who is preparing for his 2025 debut season with the team, has visited the Williams plant for the first time. When the Spanish driver returned from post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, he went to Grove to observe his new team's procedures up close. After leaving Ferrari, Sainz accepted a multi-year contract with Williams, which began a new phase of his Formula One career.

Sainz, who spent December testing in Abu Dhabi, also gave insightful comments on the FW46, the team's car from the previous season, during his visit to the Williams plant.  "First day at Grove!", Carlos Sainz took a picture outside the Williams facility with the straightforward but enthusiastic remark on his social media handle.

Moving forward, the Williams team is already far into the creation of their 2025 vehicle, the FW47. With significant regulatory changes scheduled for the 2026 season, the squad is concentrating on setting itself up for long-term success in addition to the forthcoming season. In an attempt to get back to the front of the grid, Sainz has stated how excited he is to help the team.

Carlos Sainz starts his new chapter in racing 

Alex Albon new teammate of Sainz welcomed him with open arms after he liked his post on social media, “Welcome to Grove, Carlos! Our coffer is extra smooth” Sainz is already setting in well at Williams as he prepares for what seems to be an exciting new chapter in his racing career, with the 2025 F1 season drawing near. Sainz decided to sign Williams on a multi-year contract after leaving Ferrari after negotiating with several teams.

He was able to provide his thoughts on FW46, the challenger from the previous year, after witnessing a day of testing in Abu Dhabi in December. The Grove-based team has started working on its 2025 F1 car, the FW47 to get ready for the significant regulatory changes that will occur in the 2026 seasons as well as for the upcoming year. 

Willans will debut the FW47 in the one-off event on February 14 with a unique color scheme, then on the 18th of February, all ten teams of F1 will unveil their 2025 liveries in London’s 02 Arena.
