Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen is having a difficult time on track. He struggled to find a rhythm throughout the 2024 Italian Grand Prix and ended up in sixth place. Meanwhile, MotoGP great Marc Marquez recently won the San Marino GP to clinch his back-to-back titles.

As the duo continued to headline their respective events, a throwback video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) of both, where Verstappen can be seen taking a seat on Marquez's motorbike. Noticing Verstappen looking excitedly at the bike, the Spanish racer can be seen asking his fellow racer to jump on the bike.

He is clearly explaining how the Belgian-Dutch motorsports racer could sit comfortably in the 'machine'. Mexican racer Sergio Perez also joined the conversation with Marquez at a special Honda event.

“You want to jump on the bike?,” Marquez asked Verstappen. After the Red Bull racer took the seat, Marquez can be heard saying, “It’s more difficult to jump into the car than onto the bike.”

Marquez, who raced for Honda's factory team until 2023, said that when he tested the car it was difficult for him to jump in. He then went on to share his experience in the car with Perez.

Marquez scripts history with back-to-back titles

Marc Marquez made history after winning the 2024 San Marino MotoGP on September 8, ending a three-year drought with back-to-back victories. The 31-year-old’s last consecutive win was in 2021. The Spanish superstar’s victory in San Marino comes just a week after securing his first Ducati win.

Meanwhile, given Verstappen's recent struggles, it looks like he will fail to defend his Formula 1 title. Lando Norris is tipped to win F1 title in 2024. The last race of the season is expected to witness the biggest drama.
