The Las Vegas Grand Prix delivered a spectacle for Formula 1 fans, but the most heartwarming moment came not from the podium celebrations, but from an unexpected source. A viral video captured members of the Red Bull Racing garage racing to congratulate seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton after his incredible recovery drive from 10th on the grid to second place.

Fans across social media couldn’t get enough of this rare and candid "fanboy" moment from the Red Bull camp, known for its fierce rivalry with Hamilton's Mercedes team. This becomes more surprising as Red Bull driver Max Verstappen had won the World Championship in the same event.

Here is the viral video:

Hamilton’s weekend began with challenges as a tough qualifying session left him starting from the back of the top ten. Struggling with errors during his Q3 laps on the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas, Hamilton found himself far from the ideal starting position. Meanwhile, his teammate George Russell, starting from pole, had a smoother path at the front.

Despite the setback, Hamilton’s race performance was nothing short of remarkable. Demonstrating the skill and determination that have defined his illustrious career, he carved his way through the field, delivering a masterclass in overtaking and pace management. By the time the final round of pit stops concluded, Hamilton had secured second place, capping a drive reminiscent of his early karting days.

What did Hamilton say after 5th podium of the season?

“It felt very much like my old days at Rye House, starting at the back and coming through – so it was great,” Lewis Hamilton reflected post-race. “I had a great time; when you’re progressing, it’s always a great feeling.” He noted the bittersweet nature of his result, suggesting a better qualifying performance could have led to a victory. “If we had qualified where we should have yesterday, I think I could have won. Nevertheless, I didn’t think I’d finish P2 before the race, so I’m very happy.”

The unexpected camaraderie from Red Bull staff highlighted the universal admiration for Hamilton’s skill, regardless of team allegiances. This moment of sportsmanship was a refreshing reminder of the respect great performances command across the paddock.
