Red Bull Racing star Max Verstappen is on a break from the Formula 1 track. In his free time, he tried his hand at cricket under the guidance of three England cricket players: Issy Wong, Will Jacks, and Reece Topley. Verstappen gave his best effort even though he had never played the sport before, and his attempts were captured for Red Bull Racing's video series.

The cricketers found it amusing that he had trouble with the fundamentals and didn't know how to handle the bat correctly. Verstappen, however, demonstrated that he wasn't that bad at cricket after he figured it out. Verstappen adjusted his grip and was able to touch the ball.

Although there were a couple of mishits that left the production team reeling, he was able to strike a few balls in the Castore Cricket Challenge. Verstappen jokingly said, "I almost killed someone," obviously conscious of the mayhem his swings had created. The real test was when Verstappen was hit by a fastball bowled by one of the cricket players. For the Dutchman, the speed was too great; he could not see the ball and only heard it zipping by. But don't worry, Verstappen will soon have a more appropriate task that will allow him to get into a racing simulator and be more at home.
England players help Max Verstappen play cricket
Will Jacks, Issy Wong, and Reece Topley were the three England cricket players who helped Verstappen with his cricket experiment.
Meanwhile, Will Jacks, an English power hitter, was signed by the Mumbai Indians for an incredible Rs 5.25 crore at the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the auction, the explosive batter, who was well-known for his aggressive style of play, was in great demand, drawing interest from multiple teams.
But Jacks' former team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, decided not to use their Right to Match (RTM) card, enabling the Mumbai Indians to sign him for the forthcoming campaign. Jacks is a great addition to the Mumbai Indians team as they try to bolster their roster for the 2025 IPL season because of his propensity to dominate with the bat, especially in limited-overs cricket.
