Silverstone was abuzz with excitement as McLaren star Lando Norris arrived for the British Grand Prix 2024. Before the pre-race press conference, Norris made a special connection with one of his biggest fans, a young boy whose admiration for the racing star was clear.

The touching encounter was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, showcasing the softer side of the high-octane world of Formula 1. The meeting took place just outside the press area, where Lando Norris spotted the young fan among a crowd of supporters.

Here is the video:

Taking a moment from his busy schedule, the British driver knelt to the boy’s level, engaging him in a heartfelt conversation. The youngster, visibly thrilled, shared his admiration for the racing driver, while Norris listened attentively, offering words of encouragement and advice. Norris’s genuine interaction with the fan didn’t stop there.

Lando Norris opens up about his conversation with Verstappen

After a controversial exit from Austrian Grand Prix Lando Norris spoke to media and said he had discussed the incident with Max Verstappen. He said, “Yeah, we did. Honestly, I don’t think he needed to apologise. I think some of the things I send in the pen after the race… I was frustrated at the time.”

“A lot of adrenaline. A lot of emotions. I said some things I didn’t necessarily believe in, especially later on in the week. It was tough. It was a pretty pathetic incident in terms of what ended both of our races. It wasn’t like a hit; it wasn’t like an obvious bit of contact.”

“It was one of the smallest bits of contact you could have with a pretty terrible consequence for both of us, especially for myself. He doesn’t need to apologise. I don’t expect an apology from him. I don’t think he should apologise. I thought it was after the review good racing, maybe at times close to the edge, but we’ve spoken about it. We’ve talked about it. We’re both happy to go racing again.”
