McLaren driver Lando Norris has backed Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton over his move to the Ferrari team from the 2025 season. The British racing legend achieved everything when driving for the Mercedes F1 team from 2013 to 2024. Nobody expected Hamilton would switch teams in Formula 1 after that. But the 7-time world champion wanted some new motivation so he chose his former archrival Ferrari and joined them over a multi-year deal. He already did testing in Maranello’s Fiorano Testing track and then in Barcelona.
The F1 25 launch event will happen on February 18th and after that, Lewis Hamilton will test the SF25 car for the first time in Bahrain’s Sakhir International Circuit at the end of this month. But after all this news and speculation, Hamilton is being criticised for leaving Mercedes and joining Ferrari.

Lando Norris now backs Lewis Hamilton in his move from Mercedes to Ferrari. Hamilton’s compatriot recently spoke with a popular British media and said, “I would probably do the same.”
Lando Norris was asked about racing against Lewis Hamilton and his recent move to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Norris said, “I mean, when I am on track, it doesn't make any difference. He is a competitor on the track and the guy I want to beat is the same. Hopefully, I’m excited to race against him all this year and it's always an honour to race against someone like him. And I'm always excited for that to prove myself.”
Lando also talked about Lewis moving to the Ferrari F1 team by saying, “It's a core story for him moving to Ferrari after everything he achieved. It's a core step; a lot of people said maybe it's not the right thing to do. But I would probably do the same if I were in his position. It looks cool and an amazing story for him. Now he will have a fresh mind and show everyone he is still the Lewis Hamilton known for many years. We will wait and see.”
