In a dramatic turn of events at the Belgian Grand Prix 2024, Lance Stroll's Aston Martin encountered a significant crash during the third practice session. As he navigated the treacherous Eau Rouge and Radillon section of the track, his car aquaplaned, causing him to lose control. The vehicle spun and hard-tapped the barrier, resulting in a red flag.

The Eau Rouge and Radillon corners are known for their high speeds and inherent danger, making any incident particularly concerning especially in Wet conditions. Lance Stroll's crash, though not severe, underscored the peril of these infamous bends as the medical car was deployed for Stroll as he triggered G-Force radar after impact.

Here is the video:

Notably, initial assessments revealed that Stroll damaged the front wheel and destruction of the front wing of his Aston Martin. The incident could have been significantly worse, given the speeds involved and the nature of the corners.

Aston Martin faces a race against time

Aston Martin now faces a race against time to repair Stroll's car in time for the qualifying session. The vehicle, currently on a flatbed, will require extensive work to ensure it is track-ready. The team's mechanics and engineers will need to meticulously inspect and repair the damaged components to ensure Stroll can compete effectively in the upcoming Qualifying session.

It’s worth noting that heavily rainy weather has made it hard to compete on this track. Drivers like Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri also lose their control on different corners. However, they remained unscratched.
