MotoGP is set to happen in Australia’s Philip Island as the 2024 Australian Grand Prix is heating up. This year's MotoGP is a close battle between Joan Martin the race leader and Reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia. They will continue their battle for the lead in the Australian GP. But before that, the Aussie MotoGP legend Mick Doohan alongside current riders Jack Miller, Joan Mir, Joel Kelso, Jacob Roulstone and Senna Agius went for a ride from San Remo to the Philp Islands Circuit ahead of the Australian GP.

Roadshow before the race

Jack Miller was accompanied by MotoGP legend Mick Doohan who was the first Australian Rider to break the American domination in the 1994 MotoGP season. Back then MotoGP was highly dominated by American riders from 1978 to 1993 where every championship was won by the Americans.

The Honda legend was the first one to win the championship 30 years ago. Talking about his racing days Doohan said “30 years ago was a long time ago, for me. I can't believe how quickly it has come around since 1994, the first world championship. But I’m glad they keep spinning.”

Doohan was also happy to see the passion for bike racing from the fans and he is also glad that many people still remember him for what he did during his MotoGP days in the 1990s. He is also very much satisfied being a spectator of the sport watching young guys like Jack Miller racing for Australia.

Mick Doohan was a MotoGP rider whereas his son Jack Doohan will be a Formula 1 driver next year. He will be driving for the Alpine F1 team from 2025 alongside Piere Gasly. He is the first Alpine Academy driver to be promoted to the team.

Another Australian rider and current KTM Factory racing team member Jack Miller was also very happy to be racing in his home country and he wants to give the best for the fans. He also highly appreciated the Philip Island circuit which is very awesome to ride and he feels amazing to be part of the race.
