There have been plenty of teams who are iconic in the Moto GP circuit and though it has been the Ducati team who have been leading the season, we cannot ignore the impressive run from the KTM team. They are currently second in the standings with 3 podium finishes. The performances of Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder have shown some promise this season as well.

Though this has been a promising season so far, there are a lot of questions which can arise about the team dynamics for the upcoming season. There is an assigned team captain who is responsible of making sure the rest of the riders can be led to great success in the future. What is astonishing is that KTM has not yet decided on who will be holding that position in the upcoming season.

Beirer on team dynamics

There is no doubt that we all want to discuss on what are the plans of KTM going forward and there is no better person than KTM director Pit Beirer on these matters, to which he made a unique statement regarding the team saying, "The team captain will be the number one rider in the points standings from our group, Beirer confirmed. Then the number two and the number three. It’s not like the classic where one garage is the factory and the other is the satellite team. And the factory will get [new parts] first and the satellite second. It’s up to the boys to get material.”

This decision made by the director can have its positives and negatives as the team might go in without a leader in the upcoming season. However, the concept of going for the best racer on the day can also lead to some great results in the future that can solve some problems for the team as well.
