VCARB driver Isack Hadjar had a disastrous start to his F1 career at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. The 2024 F2 runner-up is driving for the Red Bull junior team and had one of the best qualifying sessions in his career yesterday. He outpaced all other rookies and clinched P11, while his teammate Yuki Tsunoda qualified P5, which is best for VCARB.

WATCH: Isack Hadjar's crash at the 2025 Australian GP

He is out of the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, which is a disaster for the team, as they had high hopes for the rookie. In the formation lap, Isack Hadjar's rear wheel spin pushed him into the walls, and his rear wing was broken due to the impact. It could have been repaired and replaced if it was his front wing, but the rear wing is game over for any driver. Hadjar was seen crying on the pit walls, and Lewis Hamilton’s father, Anthony, comforted the youngster whose debut race ended in a disaster.

With Isack Hadjar out, the VCARB team will only rely on Yuki Tsunoda’s points from today, as he is running fifth on the grid, higher than the two Ferraris. The conditions are so wet and tricky, as overtaking is a risk for every F1 driver

If he stays in his position and the VCARB team develops the right strategy, Yuki Tsunoda can recover the points lost by Hadjar. Currently it is Class 1 rain, which is more or less a drizzle, but it will be like driving on a soap bar for the drivers.

This will be a huge test for the rookies today, as they have never experienced driving a Formula 1 car in rain conditions. With Isack Hadjar out of the competition, Bortoleto and Jack Doohan have a great chance of ending up in the points table.

We also expect more such kinds of rookie incidents in the race, especially in turn 5. It is the critical corner, more like an S bend, that has water stranded on both sides. The race start will be critical for overtaking, and we are expecting Max Verstappen to shine in this wet race.
