The reigning Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen is a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack. However, his influence extends far beyond the world of motorsport. In an interview, the 27-year-old driver revealed that he has been inspired by none other than football legend Cristiano Ronaldo in a unique and meaningful way—by choosing not to get tattoos, a decision driven by his desire to donate blood regularly.

During an interview segment where Verstappen answered some of the most commonly searched questions about him, the Belgian-Dutch driver was asked if he had any tattoos. His response provided insight into his values, as he shared that he avoids tattoos to make regular blood donations, inspired by Ronaldo's practice.

Here is the video:

“I read quite an interesting story about why Ronaldo doesn’t have tattoos, right? So, he can donate blood,” Verstappen said. While many celebrities and athletes proudly display their ink as a form of personal expression, Ronaldo's choice to remain tattoo-free is linked to his commitment to blood donation.

The Portuguese football star, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, avoids tattoos to adhere to the requirement of a four-month waiting period after getting inked before being able to donate blood again. This decision resonated with Verstappen, who has followed suit, choosing to prioritize giving back to the community over getting tattoos.

Tattoos: A common mode of communication!

Tattoos are common among high-profile athletes, with Ronaldo's longtime rival Lionel Messi, along with soccer stars like Neymar and David Beckham, sporting elaborate designs. In Formula 1, drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso also have their ink. However, Verstappen's choice underscores his commitment to making a difference off the track, much like Ronaldo's well-known philanthropic efforts.

Beyond blood donation, Verstappen is also actively involved in raising funds for charitable causes. His efforts include supporting "Wings for Life," a foundation dedicated to spinal cord injury research. This noble cause aligns with Ronaldo's wide-ranging charitable activities, cementing both athletes as leaders not only in their respective sports but also in their contributions to society.
