The Singapore GP is one of the toughest races of the F1 calendar as many drivers often feel exhausted after the race. The drivers couldn't handle the heat and humid conditions of the Asian country. Mercedes Drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell suffered 'Borderline Heatstroke' after the race and couldn't meet the press.

The Asian country has one of the toughest and most demanding street circuits in the Formula 1 calendar. Just like Monaco, Singapore has lots of twists, Bumps, Kerbs, and hard corners which drain out the drivers causing complete exhaustion after the race.

Heat is tougher than the track

The race winner McLaren’s Lando Norris won with lots of struggle and exhaustion during the race. He was not even challenged by other drivers but the Singapore weather challenged him the most and it could have cost him his race. He lost concentration due to dehydration many times in the race. He even brushed his front wing on the sides of the wall which caused him little damage.

At one point he could have ended up hitting the wall but luckily escaped. Lando was very exhausted as he was told by his engineers to use the energy drink attached to his car and concentrate on the race. Post the race, many drivers spoke about the heat and humidity and many were seen limping after exiting their cockpit.

Mercedes team Principal Toto Wolff Spoke to the media after the race. He said, “Unfortunately neither George nor Lewis will be attending the media pen this evening as they recover from the exertions of this evening's race.” His drivers were meant to do their press duties after the race just like any other drivers.

He was asked whether the drivers were suffering from any health issues the Mercedes boss said “They did not feel well, borderline heatstroke or something like that but they have had water. They would not have been able to go the pen. There were no bad feelings or any annoyance. It is just that we had the doctors with them. But they are all good.”

The Formula 1 will now head on to America where drivers will race in another hot and humid conditioned Texas at the Austin GP. McLaren is leading the constructors title and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is leading the drivers title.
