The reigning F1 world champion Max Verstappen said he is reconsidering his Formula 1 future after FIA punished him with community service because of swearing during the FIA press conference. The world champion was seen after his successful weekend at the Singapore Grand Prix where he finished in P2 behind McLarens Lando Norris. After the race, he attended the FIA press conference. Verstappen gave one-liners and silent responses to Press questions for the second day.
'Will Quit, Its Tiring' - Max Verstappen
After the FIA press conference was over, the Red Bull team facilitated him with a separate press conference so he could talk freely. Verstappen was asked if the FIA punishment made him reconsider his F1 career. He replied, “For Sure. Yeah. I mean, these kinds of things decide my future as well. When you can't be yourself, you have to deal with these kinds of silly things. I'm at a stage in my career where I don't want to be dealing with this all the time. It's tiring.
"Of course, it's great to have success and win races, but once you have accomplished all that, winning championships and races, then you want to just have a good time as well. Everyone is pushing to the limit. Everyone in this battle, even at the back of the grid. But if you have to deal with all these kinds of silly things: for me, that's not a way of continuing in the sport, that’s for sure.”
He also said he doesn't know how the FIA will consider him leaving the sport. But if he thinks it's enough for him he will leave the sport and it will continue even without him. He also answered questions regarding Carlos Sainz getting fined for crossing the track. He said its fine when you walk in the track during red flag as every car will enter the pits. He said the decision to fine him was stupid and super silly.
Max Verstappen achieved podium points at the singapore GP despite having many issues with his car. Red Bull and McLaren are tussling over this year's championship and their battle will continue at the US Grand Prix next month.
