This performance marks yet another triumph for Babymonster, a group that has rapidly gained recognition since its debut in late 2023. With popular hits like “Sheesh” and “Forever,” the septet has consistently dominated charts, showcasing their potential as YG Entertainment’s latest girl group, and the first since Blackpink. Their rise in the K-pop industry has been nothing short of meteoric, with a dedicated fanbase and a growing international presence.
The Journey to Fame for Babymonster!
Babymonster’s road to stardom began long before their official debut. Their pre-debut journey was chronicled in the Last Evaluation docuseries, which captured the rigorous training and evaluations the members underwent. This intense preparation, combined with their diverse cultural backgrounds—spanning South Korea, Japan, and Thailand—set the stage for the group’s highly anticipated debut.
By the time they officially debuted in November 2023, their fanbase was already buzzing with excitement, making them one of the most talked-about K-pop groups of the year. Their debut single, “Batter Up,” and subsequent releases only solidified their position as rising stars in the music industry. Although member Ahyeon was initially absent due to health reasons, she rejoined the group in early 2024, and Babymonster made their full seven-member debut with the EP BabyMons7er in April.
This isn’t Babymonster’s first time in Singapore—they performed earlier this year during their fan meeting tour at The Star Theatre. However, the significance of performing at the Singapore Grand Prix, one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, elevates their status even further.
