Australia's spin legend Shane Warne lost his life in March 2022 which came as a shocker for the fans and the cricket fraternity. Losing such a special player at the age of 52 was unbelievable for everyone, including his family members. The cricket world mourned for the former player and prayed for a happy afterlife. The reason behind his death was coronary artery atherosclerosis as per the the death certificate released by Thai authorities. 

This is a dangerous disease related to the heart as plaque in the heart builds up gradually. Moreover, the build-up results in the narrowing or complete blockage of these crucial blood vessels. Hence, the severe narrowing can ultimately lead to a heart attack. This was the suspected reason behind Warne's death. As per reports, Warne had been getting chest pains in the months leading up to his death, a symptom commonly associated with coronary artery disease. 

The incident happened when Warne went to visit Thailand with his friends who tried to give him CPR when he became unresponsive. When he didn't respond to it, they rushed him to a local hospital where they were declared dead. After the news broke out to the world, the cricket fraternity mourned for many days and his teammates went to his funeral to pay respect. 

Shane Warne's distribution of wealth

After the death of Shane Warne, his 'will' was released to the public with insights into his final wishes and the distribution of his estate. His will was in favour of his family and 31% of his fortune was given to his three children: Jackson, Brooke, and Summer. The remaining estate was divided among his brother, Jason, and his niece and nephew. His ex-partner Simone Callahan, and ex-fiancee, Liz Hurley weren't included in the will. 

Additionally, Warne's assets include a $6.5 million home in Portsea, Victoria, some amount of money in various bank accounts, and an impressive collection of vehicles and belongings. The Australian great played cricket from 1992 to 2007 when he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2013 and recognised as one of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Century. He had a great career and even though he was an Australian with a strong-headed nature, he was loved by all the people.
