Haas F1 driver Esteban Ocon crashed massively at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix during the qualifying session. The French driver had just qualified for Q2 and was taking his car for a spin. Just after he took the second corner, Ocon’s rear wheel slipped after he ran over the kerbs, spinning his car and crashing straight into the barriers. The crash was massive as it broke his rear wings completely. The session was red-flagged, and Ocon was taken to the medical centre by the stewards.

The Haas team is now out of the top 10 as in the previous qualifying, Olliver Bearman came last and was out. Now, with Esteban’s crash, they will have a long night to repair the car and bring it back to the race tomorrow. The American team is looking promising with Ocon and Bearman as their drivers. The Sakhir circuit is more of a low downforce track, so Formula 1 teams rely on their cars rather than drivers. Haas has a good aero package, but not the best.

Ocon is the only driver who had a good chance of entering the top 10 for Haas. But now, their hopes are over with the crash, and tomorrow’s race will be a long run for them. Sakhir’s first two corners are heavy braking zones because they come just after the DRS zone in the main straights.

Williams driver Alex Albon, VCARB’s Liam Lawson, Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto, and Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll are already out of the qualifying, and Ocon now joins them in P15. The Q2 session is underway, and the next will be the main qualifying, which will decide the top 10.  McLaren again has a good chance to finish in the pole position. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are expected to take pole 1-2. Unusually, Verstappen is also under pressure with the Red Bull car, which is not showing any signs of pace this weekend.
