As Daniel Ricciardo prepares for the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix, he faces mounting questions about his future in Formula 1. The 35-year-old Australian, who returned to the F1 grid with Red Bull's sister team, AlphaTauri (RB), in July, has been candid about the uncertainty surrounding his career beyond 2024.

Despite his efforts, Daniel Ricciardo has struggled to match the pace of his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, and currently sits 10 points behind him in the drivers' standings. During a media briefing ahead of the Singapore GP, Ricciardo was asked about his future in the sport, to which he gave a heartfelt but realistic response.

Here is the video:

Acknowledging the swirling speculation around the team’s 2025 lineup, he said, " “I know how it is and how it works, and I knew there was always going to be some dates and deadlines this year, whether it was the summer break or now post-Singapore, so post-Singapore is the next one,” he told Sky Sports F1.

"Honestly, it’s still, so many things are up in the air. Let’s see how the weekend goes. I’m going to give it all I can, as I have. There’s always something to fight for. We’ll see what happens. Try to get the thing on the podium, that’s my plan."

Why Singapore GP could be Ricciardo’s last?

With Yuki Tsunoda’s seat for 2025 has already been secured, and there’s growing talk that Lawson could be given a permanent spot on the team, especially since he has a contract clause that may allow him to explore opportunities elsewhere if a decision isn't made soon.

Ricciardo, understanding the stakes, acknowledged the tight timeline, stating, “I knew there was always going to be some dates and deadlines this year... post-Singapore is the next one.” Despite the uncertainty, Ricciardo remains focused on giving his best performance, explaining that his goal is to fight for a podium finish in Singapore.

When asked if this weekend’s race could be his last in F1, Ricciardo replied with optimism: "I don’t think so." He made it clear that, while there are still many unknowns about his future, he is determined to stay positive and avoid getting bogged down by the speculation.
