In a thrilling turn of events at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc demonstrated remarkable reflexes, narrowly avoiding a disastrous crash that could have ended his podium pursuit. As Carlos Sainz stormed to a dominant victory, claiming his second win of the season, Leclerc’s quick thinking and precision driving on lap 63 ensured Ferrari secured a double-podium finish.

Carlos Sainz's race was straightforward, leading comfortably after taking the lead early from Max Verstappen. Despite an early safety car, Sainz remained unchallenged and cruised to a fourth career win. The excitement, however, came in the intense midfield battle where Leclerc, Sainz’s teammate, had to showcase his “cat-like reflexes” to prevent his car from slamming into the wall after an oversteer at the final corner.

This near-miss occurred just as McLaren's Lando Norris was breathing down Leclerc’s neck, having earlier capitalized on Verstappen’s penalties. On lap 10, Norris and Verstappen clashed fiercely, with Norris refusing to back down even after Verstappen forced him off the track at Turn 8.

Max Verstappen was charged with reckless driving!

The tension between the two title rivals continued, leading to Verstappen being penalized with two 10-second time penalties for aggressive driving. Calling the Red Bull driver’s tactics “dangerous,” Norris showed no signs of holding back, taking advantage of each opportunity to reduce Verstappen’s championship lead.

Norris’s second-place finish brought him 18 points closer to Verstappen, who ended a challenging race in sixth, claiming only eight points. The gap between the two rivals is now at 47 points, intensifying the battle as the season progresses. Adding to the action-packed weekend, Lewis Hamilton secured a late-race move on his teammate George Russell to clinch fourth place, while home hero Sergio Perez endured a disappointing race, finishing last after damage to his Red Bull.
