Russell finished first in free practice session 1 followed by sainz and Tsunoda. He was looking to continue his good run in the FP2 session. The FP2 was an extended session as Pirelli the official tyre supplier of Formula 1 cars wanted to test their tyres for the 2025 season.

Again trouble with the W15 balance

George was testing the new Pirelli range of tyres for the 2025 Formula 1 season. At turn 8 he lost control of his car and hit straight into the barriers with high impact on his W15 car. The G force was very high as per protocol Safety car was deployed with Red Flags shown. Russell came out of the cockpit with his left hand holding his stomach. The impact could have caused some kind of pain in his stomach.

Even in the 2024 United States Grand Prix, Russell had a big collision during qualifying and he was given a pit lane start from where he finished 6th. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was also eliminated from the US GP after many long years of successful runs.

There seems to be some problem with Mercedes cars over their balance which is causing drivers to lose control of their cars in high-speed corners. During the first free practice session Alex Albon had a similar incident in the same area where he collided with Ollie Bearman who was testing his Ferrari car.

Albon was also coming out of the high-speed corner, lost control due to an oversteer collided with Ferrari’s front left side and spun into the barriers causing huge damage to his car. He will be missing this practice session and will be only seen during qualifying as we expect after looking at the damage of his car.
