Red Bull Boss Helmut Marko drops a huge bomb after hinting at Oscar Piastri as the potential driver for Red Bull. Red Bull even had some talks with Mark Webber, Oscar Piastris's Formula 1 manager who is also a Red Bull driver.
If the deal was done successfully then we can see the Australian driving alongside Max Verstappen or even replace him for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Verstappen was already rumoured to move to either Mercedes or Aston Martin in the 2026 Season.
Mercedes is much more interested in securing Max Verstappen to drive for them from the 2026 Formula 1 season. But Red Bull is looking out of the box as they said and are keeping their eyes on many other drivers like George Russell, Oscar Piastri, and Franco Colapinto.

Mark Webber the former Red Bull driver is the manager for Oscar Piastri and he is in talks with Christian Horner to secure a seat for Oscar Piastri at Red Bull. Helmut Marko confirmed the rumour by saying “Let's put it this way: Mark Webber is intensively looking for a conversation.” Piastri is already considered a world champion material after his impressive performance with the McLaren team. In just 2 seasons and 41 race starts he already won two races, three fastest lap times and 8 podium finishes.
Piastri has a contract with McLaren until the 2026 season and Mark Webber is doing everything right for his fellow Australian in securing a driver's seat even before the 2025 season. McLaren faced an Intra team battle between their drivers in the current season which was only resolved recently with Oscar agreeing to assist Lando Norris to win the championship.
Many Intra team battles happened in Formula 1 before like Prost- Senna, Schumacher-Barrichello, Alonso-Hamilton, and Vettel-Webber in the recent past. Red Bull is taking this opportunity to destabilise the McLaren camp by targeting their driver which seems to be mostly a mind game with the opponents. Everything is in McLaren’s hands about how they handle Oscar Piastri.
