As Charles Leclerc celebrates his 27th birthday, the Ferrari driver has one clear wish: a win at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix. The Monegasque driver, currently in third place in the 2024 Formula 1 championship standings, shared that a victory would be the perfect birthday present as he continues to push for top honours in both the drivers' and constructors' championships.

Leclerc has faced an up-and-down season but has managed to maintain an impressive hold on third place with 245 points, trailing Lando Norris by just 34 points in the second and 86 points behind the leader, Max Verstappen. Ferrari also remains in contention for the constructors’ title, sitting third with 441 points—34 points behind Red Bull in second, while McLaren leads with 516 points.

Speaking ahead of the U.S. Grand Prix, Leclerc was asked about his approach for the remainder of the season, considering Ferrari's focus on developing their car for the 2025 season. Leclerc explained that while Ferrari is working toward long-term goals, the team is still fully committed to finishing the current season as strongly as possible.

What did Leclerc say exactly?

"It’s a mix of the two," Leclerc said when asked about balancing current performance with future developments. "Of course, we are fully focused on the 2024 car, but at the same time, everything we put now is in the vision of 2025."

Leclerc’s determination to keep fighting for the championship is clear, despite the growing gap between him and the top two drivers. "I will fight for it until the very end. Whatever the position is at stake, you’ve got to do your absolute best as a driver, whether you’re fighting for fifth, fourth, or first position," Leclerc asserted.

But when asked about his best birthday present, the response was simple: “A win on Sunday.” With only six races left in the season, Leclerc knows that every point matters, and securing a victory at the US Grand Prix would not only be a personal triumph but a significant boost for Ferrari’s championship hopes.
