The Qualifying session in the Brazilian Grand Prix was a total disaster for the Red Bull team as both their drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were out of the final qualifying session. Both of them suffered some time delays which cost them their chances in the qualifiers. Max verstappen was out of the Q2 session after Lance Stroll hit the wall and the red flags were shown.

During Red Flags no lap time will be calculated or taken by the officials and the reigning world champion lost his podium opportunity and with his 5-second penalty he will start 17th in the race. The qualifying session opened with Franco Colapinto crashing and many drivers had to wait in the pits for the tracks to get cleared.

In the first Qualifying session, many drivers didn't get enough time to put lap times and Lewis Hamilton was out of the session. Again in the second qualifying session, Ferrari driver Carlos sainz had a crash at turn 1 and Red Flags were again shown. The race director waited till the drivers completed their lap times to show Red Flag which took around 30 to 40 seconds which is very precious in Formula 1.

Lance Stroll again followed Carlos sainz with another crash during the late period of the session and with just a few minutes remaining the session was red-flagged completely. This pushed reigning world champion Max Verstappen out of the final qualifying session and he left the garage fuming. In Q3 the same thing happened as Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon crashed totalling 5 Red Flags in a single qualifying.

Verstappen becomes Frustrappen

After the exit from Qualifying Max Verstappen was fuming at the FIA and he was breathing fire over the 40-second delay for a red flag to come out. He was asked about how he felt after the qualifiers and the champion said “The car hits the wall it needs to straight red flag! I don't understand why it needs to take 40 seconds for a red flag to come out.”

The interviewer replied that the director wanted every driver to finish their lap and that was why the delay, Verstappen became furious again and said “You know, honestly, I'll let it go. It's stupid anyway to talk about, it's ridiculous” and went away. The Red Bull driver needs to do a massive job in the race as he is starting 17th on the grid which is not a very comfortable place to start a race. He and Lando Norris are fighting for this year's Formula 1 drivers championship and there are still only 4 races left in the calendar.
