Williams driver Alex Albon had a massive crash in the Brazilian GP qualifying session after his car's rear brake got locked up pushing Albon straight into the wall and destroying the machine completely. The crash was very massive as the Williams's car was destroyed into pieces just leaving the cockpit.

The crash brought the fifth Red Flag of the session today as earlier Albon’s teammate Franco Colapinto, Two Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz were out after crashing their cars in the Interlagos circuit in Brazil.

Massive, Massive accident: officially out

Fortunately, all drivers were ok after the crash and Albon's crash was the most massive of them all. After Battling hard with lap times Albon moved into the final qualifying session Q3.  He was completing a lap and was just going for his next one.

At the time his rear right tyre got locked up and the Williams driver was pushed straight into the first corner and there he ended up hitting the wall sideways and rear. The impact of the crash has completely wrecked the car and he will not start the race and is out due to the damage.

The drivers today are driving at very high risk in the qualifying session and the circuit is itself soaked up in rain. But later the conditions improved further helping Lando Norris, George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda to set the fastest lap times and take the podium positions.

The Multiple Red Flags has cost the reigning world champion Max Verstappen to exit in qualifying 2. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is also out of the qualifying session 3 as he didn't set the fastest lap time and exited in Q1.

But the McLaren driver Lando Norris looked unstoppable as he kept on improving his lap times despite the rainy conditions on the track and took the pole position. The Brazilian race is very important for McLaren and Red Bull as the championship fight is nearing its end. Norris already won the sprint race with the help of his teammate Oscar Piastri.
