Max Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli were ruled out of the Austrian Grand Prix 2025, following a collision with each other at turn 3 in the very first lap just a few seconds after the start of the race. Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Charles Leclerc were in the top 3 after the fourth lap and maintained a decent gap from the rest of the racers.

The Red Bull and the Mercedes drivers started on a good note, as they cautiously started and looked to get past their predecessors. However, as the turn 3 approached, there was no clarity between the two, as the fatal accident occurred.

The safety car came to check if the duo was fine to continue. Unfortunately for them, the accident was not good and got ruled out of the race in the very first lap of the race. Both Antonelli and Verstappen seemed disappointed following a bad way to get ruled out of the race.
Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri maintain lead after Lap 4 in Austrian Grand Prix 2025
The accident did not hamper the confidence of Leclerc, Norris, and Piastri, who continued to lead others in the race by a decent margin. After the end of the fourth lap, the trio maintained a good gap over others and seemed favorites to win the race.

Piastri has a lead of 22 points over the second best driver in the world championship. Carlos Sainz had an unfortunate start for his race as his car caught fire. "I’m out. I got hit like crazy... idiots!" said Verstappen following the accident. "Sorry about that, locked the rear, sorry," Antonelli replied and accepted his mistake.
