Over the past few months, there have been speculations about Christian Horner’s future with the Red Bull F1 team. The rumours say that the Thai ownership of the energy drink manufacturer Red Bull wasn't happy with Horner leading the team. But Horner has the backing of Mark Mateschitz, the son of the founder, Dietrich Mateschitz. The Red Bull Racing team is going through a rough patch because they have lost their pace and are being pushed to the back by McLaren. Only Max Verstappen is holding them tight and bringing them points and podiums.

Horner to Ferrari as Team Principal?

Christian Horner hasn't commented on anything about the speculations as he is very focused on giving Max Verstappen the winning car. But the speculations are growing bigger, and one claims Horner has been approached by the Ferrari leadership from Maranello. Horner has built the Red Bull team over the last two decades, and he has been with the team since 2005. Christian has achieved a huge success and made Red Bull a championship-winning team. On the other hand, Ferrari hasn't won a world title since 2007, and they are trying everything to win the Formula 1 title.

Horner will be out of contract in 2026, and the news says Ferrari wants him to join them and become the new team principal. It is now up to Christian Horner to make the big decision, and he still hasn't spoken about his Red Bull contract or future. There are also claims that Christian and Chief Advisor Helmut Marko have internal conflicts over team decisions and driver contracts. Marko was the one who brought Max Verstappen into the team, and the two have a great relationship. Horner does not have a good relationship with Verstappen's father.

Jos Verstappen openly declared that Horner should be removed from the team principal job to keep the team intact, as many key members like Adrian Newey are leaving. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff openly tried to sign Verstappen amid all this unrest in the Red Bull camp. So, considering all these incidents in the past, the rumour could also be real, and if Horner wishes to step away, he could very well fit in the Ferrari camp, as there are plenty of challenges and opportunities awaiting. If it happens, Horner will become the team principal of his biggest rival, Lewis Hamilton.
