The 6 time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has expressed frustration after missing out on an opportunity to finish the Indonesian GP in the Pole. Marquez suffered an engine blow during the race which forced him to retire from the race.

His chances of winning the Seventh title are looking bleak and he expressed his frustration about missing out on the race. He said, “I’m sad to be out of contention but my targets for 2024 are already complete. I'm just setting targets with each race, I am trying to find consistency in the race so it was good I was doing that. The next step is to improve qualifying, so I will super concentrate on the next one to be better and be on the first two rows. This is my next target.”

'It is a big cost'

Marquez also felt he had the pace to be behind Pecco Bagnaia throughout the race and he was very hopeful of finishing on the podium. Suddenly, Marquez's bike caught fire due to an engine blow and he was forced to retire from the race without scoring any points.

He said, “There was a big noise on the back and the engine stopped, but when I saw the white smoke, I checked immediately for fire. It's a shame because the fire extinguishers they have here aren't the correct ones, so the bike was completely damaged. It's a shame for the team because for a private team, it is a big cost.”

The Mandalika circuit was very tough and physically very demanding for the riders. Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac racing won the race and Pedro Acosta of Gas Gas Tech 3 finished second while the reigning champion and Ducati lenovo factory team's rider Francesco Bagnaia finished third. Jorge martin is leading the title race this year.

The Next race will head to Japan in a week and we can see Marc Marquez and other riders racing again for the podium finish. The Spaniard will be moving from the Gresini racing team to the Ducati Lenovo factory team next year after signing a 2-year deal with the factory team. He will partner with Pecco Bagnaia by replacing Enea Bastianini.
