Throwback to Red Bull's Max Verstappen winning his third world title, breaking 71 year old record

Verstappen is one of the all-time greatest drivers in Formula 1 history. He also holds the record for the youngest-ever Formula 1 race winner.

Max Verstappen, on this day, won his third consecutive world title in 2023. The 27-year-old broke many records last season after dominating the entire grid completely. Every race weekend of Red Bull and Max Verstappen broke several records. 

In 22 races Max Verstappen has won 19 races, 12 pole positions, 4 sprint wins, 21 podium finishes, 9 fastest laps, and 575 points. Only at the Singapore GP Verstappen failed to be at the podium. He scored double the points of his teammate Sergio Perez and his championship rival.

Even Max Verstappen said his 2023 season will be very hard to beat by himself. He said, “It was an incredible season, it was a bit emotional on the last lap. The last time sitting in the car which of course has given me a lot. Of Course, very proud to win the final race, I have to say thanks to everyone at Red Bull it's been an incredible year. It will be hard to do something similar, But we definitely enjoyed this year.”

Record-breaking achievement

Max Verstappen’s Prime is the 2023 season as he had an 86.35% winning percentage. Till then Ascari had a 75% winning record at the 1952 season where he won 6 out of the 8 races. 

Most Consecutive wins

Last year, Max Verstappen set the record for most consecutive wins which is a record of 10 race wins at the 2023 season.

Most points in a single season

He broke the record for the most number of points scored in a single Formula 1 season. In the 22 races, he scored 575 points which is the highest for any driver. 

Most wins in a season

In the 2023 Formula 1 season Max won 19 out of the 22 races. His teammate Sergio Perez won 2 races and Carlos Sainz won one race in Singapore.

Most Podiums in a season

Out of 22 races Max was on 21 occasions except the Singapore GP. He also led 1,001 laps out of the 1,325 laps in the season which is 75.54%.

Max holds the record for most wins from the pole, biggest point gap between 1 and 2, most consecutive races as championship leader, Most consecutive points scored, Most top two finishes, Most hatricks this season, and Most pitstops.
