The 2024 season is a big twist for many fans. The season looked for another easy win for the Red Bull but after the mid-season, McLaren turned the tables upside down by becoming the fastest car on the grid. Lando Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri scored more points than any other drivers in the last six races.
Big things expected for the 2024 Formula 1 season
Red Bull-McLaren tussle
In the 2023 season, the Formula 1 constructors title became an easy grab for the Red Bull Team. This season it's a grinding ground for McLaren and Red Bull as we still don't know who will win the constructors title this year. Red Bull lead the constructor's championship title for the first part of the season. The second half has been very tough because they are no longer the leaders as McLaren surpassed them in points. Still, we don't know who is going to win the constructors title as Ferrari, Red Bull, and McLaren all three are in the hunt.
Lando’s first world title
Max Verstappen was unstoppable in the last two seasons. This season it's very different as McLaren’s Lando Norris is only 52 points behind Championship leader Max Verstappen. If he wins all the remaining six races he has a good chance to become the world champion for the first time.
Hamilton’s full stop at Mercedes
This year nobody expected Hamilton to leave Mercedes but he did. He will be moving to Ferrari next season and after more than a decade we are going to see Hamilton in new colours next year. The historic stint at Mercedes gave him 6 world titles and Mercedes won 8 consecutive constructors titles. Hamilton also raced the most for Mercedes and won more races than any other driver in Formula 1 history. All these world records were achieved at Mercedes.
Colapinto or lawson
Red Bull's Junior team made a shocker by sacking Daniel Ricciardo mid-way and they replaced him with Liam Lawson. At the Williams Logan Sargeant was replaced by Franco Colapinto. He is performing very well and managed to score points.
Next year, Colapinto will be replaced by Carlos Sainz, who will be coming from Ferrari. So the young Argentine will be looking for a new seat. Colapinto and Lawson would be under great pressure to perform in the remaining races.
Still, Seats left for 2025
The 2025 Formula 1 season drivers lineup was mostly confirmed. But there are still 2 seats left one is at Audi Sauber and the other one is at VCARB racing team. Bottas is most likely the driver for Audi, the RB team hasn't confirmed their driver yet.
