Major driver changes

The biggest driver change this year was Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari after 12 years of stay with the Mercedes. In his decade-long partnership with the team, he has won 6 world titles and gave them 8 constructors championships. It's like a new start for the F1 legend. Due to his arrival, Carlos Sainz has to leave his place and now moved to the Williams team.

Kimi Antonelli will make his debut in Formula 1 as he replaces Lewis at Mercedes. Other debutants were Formula 2 world champion Gabriel Bortoleto for Sauber F1, runner-up Isack Hadjar for RB Bulls, and Oliver Bearman for the Haas F1 team. All these great young talents will have their rookie year. Let’s see which rookie emerges as the best.

Change in Dominance

Over the last few years, Red Bull has been the dominant team on the grid. But in 2024, McLaren emerged as the most powerful one followed by Ferrari. Mercedes also looks like a strong team as they found momentum in the last few races of the 2024 season. There are also some major changes in the Midfield as the Haas F1 team emerged as the new superpower alongside Alpine.

New Calendar

To reduce their carbon footprint and travelling expenditure, Formula 1 has announced some refurbished Calendars this year. Many races are swapped with one another and we now have a proper format that will be easy for the teams to plan their travel.

Technology and design advancements

This year will be the final year of the hybrid era and from next year cars will be more different with new aerodynamics and performance updates. The hybrid technology and energy recovery system will also be updated this year. Every team will launch their cars on February 18th with new liveries and key updates.
