The Red Bull F1 team has officially announced that it will part ways with Mexican driver Sergio Perez after the end of the 2024 F1 season. They reached a mutual agreement after a disappointing season in 2024. Checo had a troublesome year with his car and scored only 152 points while his teammate Max Verstappen scored 437 points and became a champion. Both drivers had the same cars with the same Balance and Performance issues. Checo lost too many points to rivals and finished 8th in the driver's championship.
He is 280+ points behind his teammate which is a huge cap compared to other team drivers. Red Bull also lost their constructors Championship to McLaren due to his poor form. Many fans and F1 pundits predicted Red Bull would demote him to their junior team RB and promote one of their Junior drivers to the main team.
