Formula One’s most controversial boss is Red Bull chief advisor Helmut Marko. The ex-Austrian racing driver is known for giving controversial statements regarding Formula 1 drivers. This time his statement regarding Max and Lewis could hurt many Hamilton fans. Marko always starts mind games with his rivals even before the race.
In 2024, McLaren was fighting hard with Red Bull for the Formula 1 championships. Helmut Marko started his mind game to spoil the McLaren camp by claiming Red Bull is in talks with Piastri’s manager and former Red Bull driver Mark Webber regarding Oscar's driver seat. McLaren and Oscar denied the claim and said Piastri will be part of the team until the 2026 season. The Red Bull boss also overblown McLaren’s flexi wing issue with the media and the FIA and he eventually succeeded in doing that.

'Max could beat Lewis' - Helmut Marko
This time he attacked Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton by comparing him with Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver is the most consistent performer in Formula 1 in recent times. Verstappen is the only driver to defeat Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes in the turbo hybrid era. Helmut Marko claims that Max Verstappen is way ahead of Lewis Hamilton even with a ‘Mediocre’ car.
Hamilton moving to Ferrari is the most talked-about news in F1 right now. At this point, Marko has delivered a controversial statement, making Hamilton fans very angry at him. Marko says, “Lewis Hamilton still has the speed, but over a whole season? I have doubts about that. Even if he has a good Ferrari and we only build Max a mediocre Red Bull, I would put my money on Max.”
You can't take back the words you have spoken. Marko’s claims could come back at him harshly like a boomerang if Ferrari makes the best car this year and Lewis Hamilton could beat anyone in the world if he has the best machine. The 7-time world champion wants to win his eighth championship with Ferrari.
