The 2025 Japanese GPis just days away, and we are heading into one of the most favourite and dangerous tracks in the world. The Suzuka circuit gives a roller coaster ride for both fans and drivers with a complicated track layout. It is also the only circuit where there is an overpass within the track. Only a few drivers mastered this dangerous track. Let us rank the top 5 drivers who won the most in Japan.

1. Michael Schumacher
The King of Japan or Suzuka is definitely Michael Schumacher. The F1 legend has mastered the track, and he is the only driver to win six times (1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004) at Suzuka. He faced all the complicated areas like the 130R, Spoon curve and Esses, but nothing stopped him from winning.
2. Lewis Hamilton
Another seven-time world champion with the most wins in Japan is Lewis Hamilton. The British driver won 4 times at Suzuka (2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018) and a single race victory (2007) at the Fuji track. He won for both McLaren and Mercedes F1 teams, driving a Mercedes-powered car. This year he will be driving for Ferrari; let us see whether he can win the race and equal Schumacher.
3. Sebastian Vettel
The legendary German driver, just like his idol Michael, mastered the Suzuka circuit. But in his last few years, he didn't win any races at the circuit. But the Japanese Grand Prix was the favourite track for Sebastia Vettel, and he won there four times (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) in his career.
4. Max Verstappen
Reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen is the latest driver to dominate Suzuka. He won the last three races from the 2022 season to the 2024 season. If Max wins this year, then he will equal his former Red Bull counterpart Sebastian Vettel with 4 wins.
5. Fernando Alonso
Veteran Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso will always be remembered for his iconic 130R overtaking. He eased the most dangerous left-hander against Michael Schumacher without caring about his life. F1’s youngest veteran, Fernando, won at Suzuka 2 times (2006 and 2008).
