The race was a disaster for him as he crashed his car on the formation lap. Rain was expected during the Australian Grand Prix main race, and many experts and commentators wished to see how the rookies performed under pressure in intense rain. Apart from Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman, no other rookie finished the race as everyone crashed into the walls the same way.

Antonelli produced the best result for his team in P4. For Isac, the race was over before even the lights went out, and the young man cried on track. He was seen walking to his garage, heads down, crying and holding his face. But all of a sudden, he collided with Lewis Hamilton’s father, Anthony Hamilton, who was waiting for him.

Anthony Hamilton hugged Isack and asked the French driver to keep his head high. It was very emotional to see and a much-needed hug for Hadjar. Anthony Hamilton was seen hugging Lewis Hamilton on many occasions, but this was the first time he went for another youngster whose debut race was torn into pieces.

Anthony Hamilton speaks on Isack Hadjar incident

He was later asked about the incident, and Anthony said, “When I saw it happen(Isack’s crash), my heart just sank for him. Not just for him, but for his parents, for everything that they’ve done to work hard to get to this one point. And it’s like snatched from you, and I just felt terrible for him.”

He added, “I just felt, I need to go and tell this kid, keep your head high, walk tall youre going to comeback. I think he’s a phenomenal driver. I think there’s more to come from Isack than we probably have seen this weekend.” Anthony was really gracious as even before telling his son Lewis Hamilton all the best for his Ferrari debut, he wished all the 5 rookies who were racing their very first race in Formula 1. His act of kindness literally made the fane become emotional, and Isack will forever be grateful to his idol’s father.
