Spanish Motogp rider and 2024 world champion Jorge Martin is reported to have spoken with the leadership of Aprilia Racing over his racing contract. The 27-year-old rider had a big injury at the start of the 2025 season. He was thrown off the bike during the Malaysian pre-season testing. Martin had a fractured wrist and legs that kept him out of racing for the first few races. Martin returned to racing at the 2025 Qatar GP, but unfortunately, he got injured again after having a low side and broke his ribs.

Martin to exit from Aprilia Racing by2025?

Now, there is news coming out from Martin’s camp regarding breaking the contract with Aprilia with some clauses. One of those clauses was fighting for the championship or in the top 3. Jorge Martin is now out of the championship fight, with no immediate return possible for him.

There were also reports about Aprilia and Martin talking outside the Le Mans race track regarding the contract. Martin hasn't raced for Aprilia Racing other than the Qatar GP. This is a huge bombshell for the Italian manufacturer, as they didn't expect their rider to exit the team after just one race. In 2024, Ducati thought of promoting Jorge Martin alongside Pecco Bagnaia by the end of the season.

But they were more impressed with Marc Marquez, who performed exceptionally well in a low-spec Ducati at the Gresini Racing team. Martin then joined Aprilia Racing, a deal made into reality by his dear friend Espargaro. He also won the 2024 Motogp world championship and joined the Aprilia Factory racing team alongside Marco Bezzecchi. But now, he wants it to end very early after just one race, citing the performance clause in his contract.

Aprilia Racing is now facing more crisis as their bikes don't have the pace to fight against the mighty Ducatis. Even manufacturers like Honda, KTM and Yamaha have scored podiums this year, and the only team remaining out is Aprilia. If he breaks his contract this year, the only option left for him next year is the Factory Honda team, where Luca Marini’s contract ends this season.
