MotoGP legend and five-time world champion Mick Doohan lashed out at the Alpine F1 team after they sacked his son, Jack Doohan, after just six races. The legendary rider in his career achieved many amazing milestones, and he is the one who ended the American reign in MotoGP premier class competition. The Australian legend's son, Jack Doohan, was the second driver for the Alpine F1 team.

Jack competed in just 6 races in the 2025 Formula 1 season and had multiple crashes. There were also some team and strategy errors made that cost him his race. But now he is kept on the sidelines with Franco Colapinto replacing him for the rest of the season. Jack Doohan’s future in F1 is bleak as the competition for a driver seat is huge, and no team will go for a sacked driver unless he brings sponsorships or a big fan base.

Doohan’s father, Mick Doohan, now branded the Alpine F1 team as a ‘Customer team’. Though they are calling Jack Doohan as their first-choice reserve driver, the possibility of him getting another chance inside the team is very low. Mick made his intentions clear that he had no role in his son’s F1 career. The motorcycle legend said, “It’s a little bit disappointing the way that things have turned out. I think Jack performed quite well on paper. Even in qualifying and free practices, and so on, he was quite good. But anyway, this is Formula 1, and it looks like it's a customer team now.”

Formula 1 is very difficult, as the chances of getting fired are high. Even senior F1 drivers and achievers like Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonnen, and Sergio Perez faced these situations when they weren't performing well for their team. It has become more of a business now, and Jack Doohan needs to keep pushing, and one day he will get what he deserves, and he definitely deserves better. Mick supported his son to become an F1 driver even though he was a bike racer. Jack Doohan was also motivated by seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
