In the Sprint Qualification of the Miami Grand Prix 2024, Max Verstappen clinches the pole position with a time of 1:27.641. After a poor qualification, Charles Leclerc clinches the second position as he was just a tenth of a second behind Verstappen’s Red Bull.

Sergio Perez clinched the third position with a gap of +0.235 seconds to Verstappen. Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events, Daniel Ricciardo clinched a fourth position in the sprint qualification round making the grid interesting for the Saturday Race.

Notably, This weekend marks the sixth round of the Formula 1 2024 season as the Miami Grand Prix, the first of three stops in the United States. F1 is set to transform the Hard Rock Stadium complex into a thrilling racing spectacle over the weekend.

Things started with a great practice session and then moved to Sprint qualifications. The front-row man for Mercedes in Shanghai failed to make it to Q3 as he was eliminated with a pit infringement and a minor collision with the wall at Turn 16.  The day became worse for Mercedes as George Russell also failed to put up a show as he finished 11th just a position up from Hamilton.

A minor win for Logan Sargeant at home track!

Williams’ driver Logan Sargeant finished 19th while his teammate Alex Albon finished last in the qualifying session. In the broader context, Sargeant's 19th place qualifying for the sprint race might seem disappointing, particularly amidst rumours suggesting his seat is in jeopardy.

However, it's noteworthy that he managed to out-qualify his teammate Alex Albon by three-tenths of a second. Given the statement from the Williams team principal indicating Sargeant's need to narrow the gap with Alex, this achievement marks a step forward, albeit not a significant one.
