Max Verstappen wins sprint race of US Grand Prix, Lando Norris falls behind in championship battle - Results

Max Verstappen showcased his exceptional driving skills by securing a decisive victory at the Circuit of the Americas in the Formula 1 sprint race. The reigning world champion finished the race nearly four seconds ahead of his closest rival, Carlos Sainz, who steadily climbed from fifth to second. This result highlights Verstappen’s continued dominance in the championship, further solidifying his position at the top of the leaderboard.

The sprint race set the stage for the upcoming United States Grand Prix, with Lando Norris completing the podium in third place. Norris's performance, however, added pressure to his championship hopes as he increased the gap with Verstappen by 54 points in the overall standings. Despite a commendable effort, he couldn’t keep pace with Verstappen or Sainz, who has been consistently challenging for top positions throughout the season.

Charles Leclerc from Ferrari finished fourth, closely followed by George Russell from Mercedes in fifth place. Lewis Hamilton, a five-time winner at the Circuit of the Americas, had a less favourable outing, ending the race in sixth position. However, it was a solid day for Haas, with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg claiming seventh and eighth, respectively, allowing the team to score valuable points.
