Mercedes Driver George Russell was asked to pick his favourite driver to win this year’s Formula 1 world championship and he picked his fellow British driver Lando Norris as his favourite driver to win this year. George feels Lando has the fastest car on the grid which makes him a favourite.

The triple header is currently underway with the United States Grand Prix starting today which will head to Mexico and Brazil all races will happen within 3 weeks. We will have an almost winner of this year's Formula 1 drivers championship by seeing the results of these races.

Max Verstappen is leading Lando Norris by 52 points after failing to win the last 7 races of the season. But by consistent podium finishes, he is keeping his Championship lead and momentum alive ahead of Norris. Red Bull cars are having some balance issues which is not allowing Max Verstappen to unleash his full potential and win races which he used to do all the time.

McLaren on the other hand was very consistent in their races as both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris scored continuous points and podium finishes for the team. All these have put Russell to back Lando Norris for this year's world championship.

The Mercedes driver said “Max is leading and is in the better position. But Lando’s got the fastest car right now. I think Lando can win the championship and I would probably say he’s the favourite to do compared with Red Bull.” He also feels intrigued to watch the battle from neutral. He also said Mercedes can't do much this season they can only try to put up a fight against the championship leaders.

Only 6 races remain in the season where 180 points will be available for the drivers to score. Mercedes are very inconsistent this year as they have won only 3 races in Austria, Britain, and Belgium. They are currently standing fourth in the grid with 329 points. The top three teams are McLaren 516 points, Red Bull 475 points, and Ferrari 441 points.
