F1 world champion Max Verstappen is on a home run for four consecutive Formula 1 seasons. His reign started in the 2021 season when he defeated Lewis Hamilton and became a world champion for the first time. In the last four years, he has been the most dominant force and the best driver in F1. Only in the 2024 season was Max Verstappen challenged by McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes, and that too in the later stages of the championship.

The 2022 and 2023 seasons were completely swept by Verstappen. His superaggressive driving skills and bravery won him many races. But he was criticised for the same, and last year he shut many mouths by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix under heavy rain conditions.

Max Verstappen became one of the all-time greats after winning the 2024 season. Only Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel, Fangio, Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are in the League of Legends with 4 or more F1 titles. A new record is clearly visible before Verstappen’s eyes, and that is none other than his father's F1 teammate Michael Schumacher’s 5 titles in a row record. The legendary driver achieved this feat from 2000 to 2004 while driving for Ferrari.

If Max Verstappen wins the Formula 1 title this year, then he will equal the record of 5 titles in a row set by Michael. Max will also join Fangio, Hamilton, and Schumacher as drivers with five or more titles. He will also break Red Bull’s Jinx record of losing the 5th title after winning four in a row. Before him, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel lost the opportunity to equal Schumacher's 5 titles in a row record. The Germans lost it in 2014 after winning from 2010 to 2013, and the Brits lost in 2021 after winning four titles in a row from 2017 to 2020.

Verstappen on schumacher record

Talking about the record, Max said, “I mean, I would like to win, yeah. It's not about the targets of winning five in a row or winning how many in total. But for me, I’m in a team that I think is capable of winning those championships, and I’m very excited about what we come up with again for this year. I hope it's quick enough. I know when it's quick enough I’ll do the rest; I just hope that we are competitive.”

Max Verstappen wants the car to be quick before thinking of Schumacher’s record of five titles. Red Bull thought they were the fastest at the start. But after that, McLaren and Ferrari started to dominate and pushed the Milton Keynes team to third place on the grid. In 2025, if they fail again, then Max Verstappen will lose his title and the chance to equal the record.
