The 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix was undeniably the best race of the year. This was even an understatement as what happened over the weekend was incredible and we have to thank the Brazilian crowd and the organizers for making this happen. The weekend was full of heavy rain and drivers struggled to keep their car on the track.
The Reigning champion Max Verstappen was out of the Qualifying 3 followed by a Red flag and was pushed to P17 due to an engine penalty. It couldn't stop Verstappen as he moved up the order from the start of the race and was flying around the circuit. Strategic blunders from McLaren and Mercedes helped Verstappen take the lead and win the race at the Sao Paulo circuit.

With this win, Max Verstappen has broken the long-standing record of Michael Schumacher which seemed unbreakable. Verstappen is now leading the driver's championship for the 897th day which was previously held by the great Schumacher. This Brazil win was very special for Verstappen as his last win came back on June 23 in Spain. After 4 months of struggle and 10 winless races, the 27-year-old Dutchman finally found victory in the Interlagos circuit.
He not only won the race but he won with a 19-second lead and that too in a rain-soaked circuit. In Mexico City, he was 59.559 behind race winner Carlos Sainz. Red Bull also scored points continuously for the 64th weekend equalling McLaren’s point-scoring record from 2010 to 2013. The longest point scoring streak for a team is with Ferrari (81) which came in 2010 - 2014. Max is now leading the world championship by 62 points. There are only 86 points for grabs. This means Max Verstappen could win his fourth world title in the next race which will be held at the Las Vegas city.
