Max on Sim racers (Photograph: X)
The Formula 1 world champion Max verstappen is one of the world’s best SIM racers who keeps settings closer to reality and races against the best SIM drivers. Even during his non-racing days, Max Verstappen is seen playing Sim racing events. Max has sparked fire by claiming Sim racers are tougher opponents than real-life F1 rivals.
The 4-time F1 World Champion feels Sim racing is even tougher than real-life racing. Though, last year Verstappen found it harder to win the Formula 1 title he kept his nerves cool, consistently scored points, kept himself ahead of Lando Norris and won the F1 title for the fourth time.
The greatest race we have seen in many years was the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix. It happened in a washed-out Interlagos circuit which turned into a lake. Many drivers couldn't keep their cars inside the racing line, but Verstappen flew past everyone like a bird and won the race by more than 20+ points lead. He proved to everyone that he was the greatest driver of the new era.
The 2025 F1 season will be even tougher for him as his opponents McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes have grown stronger than his team and beating them will be very difficult. Max Verstappen claims Sim racing opponents are even tougher than his real-life rivals.
'Competition is harder'- Max Verstappen
Max said, “Everyone always thinks that it’s just a game and it’s fun, easy going, but I would say the competition is just as hard, or even harder, to nail — to win — than in real life. I did it for a little bit, and then I realised. Okay, this is actually a lot of fun when I’m surrounded by really good drivers, and I want to try and be good at it as well.”
Verstappen feels by regularly playing Sim racing events he is becoming more professional racer every year. He said, “I keep myself busy with doing the same thing as in real life, working on setup, strategy, racing, pit stops, all these kinds of things. It is becoming more and more professional every single year.”
