Maverick Vinales has been phenomenal in his MotoGP career. Despite his amazing performances in the recent past Vinales failed to put up a show in the recently concluded Spanish GP. His struggles with Aprilia and his teammate's poor performance in Q2 pushed Aprilia to have a look into it.

However, Vinales got another chance to ride the RS-GP bike on Monday for the official test during the season. It proved to be important for Vinales as he found out there was a problem with his second bike during the race that slowed him down.

At first, Aprilia thought Vinales' second bike had a problem with the front brake in Austin. They fixed it before he used it in Jerez on Sunday after his crash. But when he tried both bikes on Monday, they found a bigger problem that made him slower in Spain.

What made Maverick Vinales’ bike slow?

Now, Vinales believes Aprilia can improve a lot in the next races. He's getting ready for the French Grand Prix on May 12 at Le Mans. Speaking with media after the official test Vinales said, “Because I crashed with bike A on Saturday, so to be safe we went with bike B,” he explained.

“But to be honest we didn't realize that it wasn’t working. I said at the weekend and also in Austin that I was not stopping with bike B. We related it to a front brake problem and at the end it's not a front brake problem.”

“Today we discovered more or less what it is and now they are working similarly. So that's a huge step for the future because in the race I could be much faster. So this is something we have to be alert of and every race we will learn more and more, so the team is more prepared.” Further without revealing the real reason behind the issue Vinales’s said, "It's a wear issue, I don't know exactly, but it's very possible."
