MotoGP legend and Ducati rider Marc Marquez is predicting that this season will be like Max Verstappen's 2023 F1 season. The Spanish MotoGP legend already has 6 world titles under his name, and all the titles were won when he was riding for Honda.

After Honda’s slump in performance, he signed for the Gresini Racing team, which earned him a Ducati seat in 2025. His performance with an underpowered GP23 engine has earned him a Factory Ducati seat, and he has already proven his worth by winning the 2025 Thailand Grand Prix held last week. He is leading the 2025 MotoGP points table against his brother, Alex Marquez and teammate Francesco Bagnaia.

With Jorge Martin doubtful due to his massive injury during the pre-season practice session, Marquez is the clear winner. The Spaniard showed extreme pace during the race at the Buriram International circuit, and even his teammate Francesco Bagnaia couldn’t get near him. Former MotoGP champion Alex Criville has predicted that Marc Marquez will repeat Max Verstappen’s 2023 F1 season this year.

Marc Marquez reminds of Max verstappen

Criville said, “The Favourite is Marc Marquez. I see Marc very happy because he sees his brother, who has progressed a lot and is in podium position; he is very close to him. And from there, Bagnaia will have to wake up to try to fight for that world title because Marc is much superior this season, very fit”

The Spaniard also compared Marquez with Verstappen as he had a similar kind of run during the 2023 Formula 1 season, where he won 19 out of 21 races. Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz were the other drivers who won that year. They still hold the record for the most wins by an F1 driver and team in history.

He added, “I would say that it reminds me a bit of Max Verstappen in Formula 1 that went out and made it easy. It looks like this could happen a little.” Marc Marquez made his debut in 2013, and in his rookie year, he defeated Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo and clinched the MotoGP title for Honda.

Furthermore, he continued his domination until the 2019 season, and after that, he had a massive accident that pushed him out of competition for one year. Now he is in the best team and has the best bike to win a championship.

If he continues in the same form, this year will be his most successful season after many years, and he could win his seventh world title. The next MotoGP race will happen in Argentina from March 14 to 16th.
