He also became the youngest pole sitter in F1 history at 18 years of age, beating Sebastian Vettel’s record in the 2008 Monza race. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff is very proud of his pick, and nobody thought Kimi Antonelli would be this good.

Ferrari driver and Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has the habit of congratulating even his rivals if they do something extraordinary. Hamilton posted a special message to Kimi Antonelli saying, “Amazing lap @kimiantonelli, so happy for you guys @mercedesamgf!”

Hamilton posted this message after seeing his replacement at Mercedes, Kimi Antonelli, and his former race engineer, Bono, celebrate the sprint pole. The british F1 driver finished in P7 behind Charles Leclerc.

The sad news is that Leclerc will most probably start in the pit lane. He hit the wall during the warmup lap. So, Lewis Hamilton will start up the order and has more to prove. Kimi Antonelli’s pace looks promising and is championship material.

Mercedes will be looking to convert the Sprint pole position into a sprint race win. But the heavy rain in Miami will make it difficult for the young rookie, and he will have to be at his best to keep his pole position. More experienced drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and George Russell will have more chances in the wet race.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is facing an unfortunate situation as his car is heavily damaged, especially on the right side. Both his suspensions are gone, and his race engineers are working hard to get the car fixed. The unpredictable weather and the high-speed race track will test the drivers to their limits, and let us see who emerges as the best.
