Red Bull Racing’s team principal Christian Horner’s six-year-old son, Monty, made his racing debut at the prestigious Goodwood Revival motorsport event on Saturday afternoon. The young Horner participated in the Settrington Cup, a 246-yard (224 meters) pedal car race designed for children aged between four and 10.

While Monty might come from a family known for its racing expertise, he wasn’t able to secure a spot on the podium. Despite this, his father, the Red Bull Racing team principal, was present to offer some valuable pre-race advice. Christian, dressed in a vintage racing suit and flat cap, embraced the event's historic atmosphere with his wife, Geri Horner, who also sported a classic vintage look for the occasion.

Here are some images:

The Goodwood Revival, held annually in Chichester, celebrates motorsport heritage from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. The festival is renowned for its unique period theme, offering not only racing but also a showcase of classic vehicles, vintage fashion, and music from the golden age of motorsport. It is recognized as the only historic motor race meeting to be entirely staged in period dress and theme, making it a highlight for enthusiasts.

Christian Horner’s increasing tension

Notably, things are not going well for the Red Bull chief as his team including ace driver Max Verstappen is struggling a lot on the track. The team’s RB20 has lost its pace and is unable to compete even against teams like Mercedes and Ferrari.

This significant drop in Red Bull’s performance will surely trouble Horner as his team is on the verge of losing the constructor’s championship while Lando Norris is closing gaps with Max Verstappen in the Drivers standings. The upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be an important weekend for the team.

Christian Horner’s attendance at the event was made possible by a rare week-long break in the Formula 1 schedule, allowing him to enjoy the festivities with his family. Monty’s racing debut might not have ended with a victory, but it marked a special moment for the Horner family as they participated in the timeless traditions of the Goodwood Revival.
